Prince John is getting himself crowned King by proclaiming the death of Sir Richard the Lionheart. Maid Marian and Robin Hood will mount an effort to stop this tyrant from obtaining the crown by proving the King still lives. Getting into the castle will be a difficult task but it is the only hope to stop the coronation from happening. Prince John has captured the messenger from the crusades to hold back some bad news against him as his fears grow into madness. The crown awaits but who is grasp it.
Donald Pleasance !! plays the role of Prince John and masterfully. The Prisoner episode shows the princes fear of the return of the true King of England so much so that he would push for his coronation to take place. Such an amazing performance by Donald Pleasance bringing Prince John into view as a mad coward that wields his power through his military might not by his own force of will. A strong ending to the very first season of The Adventures of Robin Hood.
