The Protectors Season 2 Episode 20: Route 27

The Protectors_Route 27 Title Shot

A man is found in a city dump but luckily saved by the bullet-proof vest he wore, the other body found wasn’t so lucky. It is Harry Rule and the police have put a security detail on his hospital room. Harry calls the Contessa for help because he is in danger. He was on the trail of a heroine smuggling group when he was shot and he has some information on the whereabouts of 40kg. of heroine. Harry is dead set on exposing this drug smuggling group so he needs a smaller police presence than is normally needed and instead will use the Contessa. A bit of icing sugar and away he goes.

Personal Synopsis

Drug smuggling in Copenhagen, a story that could go anywhere. Harry becomes the ambassador/vigilante for a grieving father who lost his son to drug addiction. An episode where Harry’s tougher than nails character shows his human side, and small parts in Danish. I enjoyed the episode and laughed at the silly somewhat unimpressive drug lord.

The Protectors Season 1 Episode 13: The Numbers Game

The Numbers Game Title Shot

A beautiful day in the Mediterranean, great view and some drinks but in the middle of this paradise something is afoot. A young lady is in trouble for mixing in with the wrong people, money trafficking.  She has to convey information when called upon. An established heart surgeon is mixed up in this too. The racket has gone for too long so the Protectors will need to find the spanish connection.

Personal Synopsis

A drug smuggling ring using unsuspecting regular peoples vehicles to transport the drugs. This story was set in an exotic area of the spanish coast but still didnt strike my interest much because of the tendency of these type of shows to have stories of drug smuggling. Its become old hat to me. This episode could have been better if the writers could put in some originality but they failed to do so.

The Baron Episode 27: Roundabout

The Baron Roundabout Title Shot

The scorned wife of an aquaintence of Mannerings is found nearly dead after being choked by a would be assasin which nearly got John killed as well. The owner of Johns Paris store is dealing with something illegal so John has to investigate further. After a haircut that nearly took too much off, John was assured that there was a criminal operation in place within his shop. The Baron plays the game and sneaks his way into the inner workings of the operation. Theres a new drug exchange to be made that John will be in on but not without some difficulties. A double cross is not enough to get the traffickers away and free, John will see to that.

Personal Synopsis

On the surface this episode has very intriguing plot lines with the antique dealer running a drug trafficking racket and it does fulfill the need for mystery.  Its a good episode in story and visually with the beautiful Annette Andre playing a Drug Traffic Officer. The lack of Sue Lloyds Cordelia character is noticeable for me since I have grown accustomed to her in the last few episodes. I find the first death scene wonderfully cheezy and you’ll see what I mean.
