The Sentimental Agent Episode 5: May the Saints Preserve Us

An interesting opportunity for Carlos arrives from Texas which involves an Irish castle and moonshine.  However the Irish myths and custom agents make this a more challenging proposition.

Personal Synopsis

Who would of thought of moving a castle across an ocean? Of course Carlos is the right import and export agent to make it happen. The fascinating part of this episode to me is the amazingly terrible Texan accents and the deep rooted stereotypes at play in the writing of this show such as a crazed Irish playwright and hard whiskey.

The Adventures of Robin Hood Season 2 Episode 34: The Little People

Robin Hood_The Little People Title Card

Traveling across Ireland in rainy conditions, Robin and the crew seeks shelter in a farm whose inhabitants believe that out in the wild live the little people, the leprechauns. After being captured Robin must prove the little peoples existence or Maid Marian will be hanged by her captors. The stories of such little tales deemed foolish are found to be true and just in time.

Personal Synopsis

“What? No cold bacon?” Friar Tuck is often hungry but now much more specific with his expectations. The Little People episode plays on the tales of the wee leprechauns but gives it a more realistic look as the reasons for their existence are not all supernatural. This heartfelt episode was easy to digest even with the classic clichés of Robin’s galant efforts.

Maid Marian’s appeals to Robin Hood and his merry men to save her uncle from trouble with the gods in Ireland. Upon arriving on the shores of this nearby island, Robin realizes the situation is much more grave than expected. Supernatural fears and an influential leader take over the island and Robin may not be powerful enough to stop it.

Another tale away from the sherwood forest but instead of the holy land Robin faces trouble in the land called Éire. A running fear across the land intimidates Robin and his merry men but not for long as the fears started to show their realities and their vulnerability.
